Barbara Santoro Jazz Brunch – 4/21/13

website-resized_DSC_9794In 1982, a dedicated group of community leaders, grass-roots organizations, and local churches founded Delaware Hospice.  In October 2012 Delaware Hospice celebrated 30 years of providing superior hospice care and comfort to those in our community facing life-limiting illnesses.  Since its inception Delaware Hospice has cared for over 42,000 patients, their loved ones and families in Delaware and southern Chester and Delaware Counties in Pennsylvania.

In addition to ongoing hospice services, Delaware Hospice offers two specialized programs, New Hope and Transitions. New Hope addresses the specific needs of children facing the loss of a loved one. Since 1990, around 6,000 children have participated in this nationally recognized program.  To make a donation to Camp New Hope click here: New Hope donation form (PDF).  To see more on New Hope and view their Dateline TV segment click here: New Hope website.

Transitions enables individuals with a serious illness (although not ready for hospice services) to access resources, information, and support services that help them and their families plan for day-to-day needs.

The Barbara Santoro Jazz Brunch has truly become a signature charity event for Prudential Fox & Roach in their commitment to Delaware Hospice.  This event was initiated in early 2003 by Barbara Santoro, a manager in the Prudential Fox & Roach Greenville office, as a collaborative event between the Real Estate professionals and Delaware Hospice.

Throughout 2003 Prudential Fox & Roach colleagues including Barbara worked enthusiastically to organize the Jazz Brunch; however, Barbara tragically succumbed to cancer before the event could be held.  The charity she supported now supported her.  In recognition of her championing Delaware Hospice, and her dedication to Prudential Fox & Roach, the inaugural Jazz Brunch was christened the “Barbara Santoro Jazz Brunch.”  Since 2003 we have helped raise over $469,500 for the Delaware Hospice.

It is a fitting tribute to Barbara that we continue her legacy in raising funds for her worthy cause, Delaware Hospice, at the luxurious Barbara Santoro Jazz Brunch this April. Hope to see you there.
