Donor Stories
I give because I can and I know someone needs it. I started giving when I was 17 and in high school when a classmate was in a serious accident and needed blood. I continued giving while in the military and beyond. When my father was diagnosed with cancer and needed blood and platelets I began to really understand what my donations meant to others.
I have continued to give platelets and whole blood because as a police officer I have seen many in my law enforcement community in need. If I can help even one person then it’s all worth it. I always think about the person who was generous enough to give to my dad and I hope I can do the same for others.
