$96,958 Donated | 5,382 Filled Backpacks to Get Children Ready for Learning for the 2022 – 2023 School Year
You Did It Again!
A heartfelt thank you to BHHS Fox & Roach and The Trident Group sales associates, employees, executives, families, friends, clients and sponsors who came up big for this year’s backpack challenge by donating $96,958 to Cradles to Crayons, providing 5,382 filled backpacks to children throughout Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania!
Thank you again to the BHHS Fox & Roach Executive team for your continued donation match, this year in the amount of $7,100 to purchase an additional 355 backpacks for children returning to school for the 2022-2023 year!
And thanks as well to the over 75 sales associates and employees who participated in this year’s Backpack-A-Thon at Lincoln Financial Field on August 10th, helping to fill 35,000 backpacks in 2 hours.
Coming up, for the first time, an additional Backpack-A-Thon will be held on September 14th at the University of Delaware to fill an additional 15,000 backpacks, fulfilling Cradle to Crayon’s goal of providing 50,000 filled backpacks to local kids in need. We will have a team of 15 – 20 volunteers at this inaugural event.
Since 2006, the BHHS Fox & Roach/Trident family has donated over 58,291 backpacks & supplies, totaling more than $776,000.
“Your kindness allowed us to distribute new Back to School items to children in our community who may not otherwise be able to afford them. This will relieve a financial burden to families and set students up for success.
“Additionally, Mercy Center’s choice pantry allows families and individuals to select groceries based on their needs. We will continue to provide emergency assistance, self-care items and clothing for our neighbors while we support them through the socio-economic challenges they face. Because of you, we can relieve a mother in need of groceries or a family struggling to keep up with the household bills.
“Please know that you have helped us to lift spirits and offer hope for a better future to our families in need.”
